Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of RDP Protector, the managed brute-force protection service for Windows servers operated by File Master LLC. By creating an account or installing the agent, you agree to them.
1. Who you are contracting with
RDP Protector is operated by File Master LLC ("we", "us"), a company registered in Bulgaria, VAT number 180842207, with its registered office at Serena app., office C13, Golden Sands, Varna 9007, Bulgaria. "You" means the individual or legal entity that accepts these Terms.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" refers to that organisation.
For customers paying in the Russian Federation through YooKassa, the Russian-language договор-оферта applies to that payment relationship in addition to these Terms. Where the two conflict on payment matters, the оферта governs.
2. The service
RDP Protector consists of a hosted control panel and a Windows agent that you install on servers you control. The agent monitors the operating system's own security event log for failed authentication attempts against RDP and, on paid plans, FTP and MS SQL, and blocks sources that exceed the thresholds set in your policy by writing rules to the Windows Firewall on that same host.
We may change, add or remove features. Where a change materially reduces functionality on a paid plan, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and you may cancel under clause 5.
3. Accounts and organisations
- You must provide an accurate email address and keep it current. It is the only channel we use for account recovery, security notices and billing.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including actions by users you invite to your organisation. Keep your credentials confidential; we strongly recommend enabling multi-factor authentication.
- An account may hold several organisations, and an organisation may have several members with different roles. The organisation owner controls membership and billing for that organisation.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
- Tell us promptly at tech.support@recoverytoolbox.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Plans, trial and billing
- Free. One server, RDP protection, 24 hours of attack history and a three-entry whitelist. Free is permanent, requires no payment card, and is not a trial.
- Trial. Each account may activate one 14-day trial of the Pro feature set. No card is required and nothing is charged. When it ends, the account returns to Free automatically: protection keeps running, subnet bans fall back to single-address blocks, Telegram alerts stop and history shortens to 24 hours.
- Paid plans. Solo, Pro and Enterprise are billed in advance, monthly or annually, at the prices shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Additional servers beyond a plan's included count are billed per server and renew on the same cycle as the plan they extend.
- Renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
- Payment processing. Payments are handled by third-party providers — PayPro Global internationally, YooKassa in the Russian Federation, and a cryptocurrency channel as a fallback. We do not receive or store your card details. Your use of those providers is subject to their own terms.
- Taxes. Prices are exclusive of VAT and other applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Where the payment provider is the merchant of record, it collects and remits the applicable tax.
- Price changes. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes take effect at your next renewal; if you do not accept them, cancel before that date.
- Non-payment. If a renewal fails, we will attempt to notify you and retry. If payment is not completed, the organisation reverts to the Free plan; it is not deleted, and protection on your first server continues.
5. Refunds and cancellation
You may request a full refund of a paid subscription within 14 days of the first charge for that subscription by writing to tech.support@recoverytoolbox.com. Renewal charges after the first period are not refundable, but you may cancel at any time to prevent the next one.
This is in addition to, and does not limit, any statutory right of withdrawal you may have as a consumer in the EU or elsewhere.
6. Acceptable use
You may install the agent only on servers you own or are authorised to administer. You must not:
- install the agent on a system without the authority of its owner;
- use the service to attack, scan, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to any system;
- deliberately submit false attack data in order to have addresses added to the shared threat database, or otherwise attempt to have an address blocked for other customers without cause;
- resell, sublicense or provide the service to third parties, except through the Enterprise plan's MSP console where that is its intended purpose;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of the agent or the panel, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law;
- circumvent plan limits, quotas or licensing controls, or share one account's entitlements across organisations that should be billed separately;
- use the service in violation of applicable law or export-control and sanctions rules.
7. The agent and your servers
- What the agent does. It reads its own host's security event log and writes inbound-block rules to that host's firewall. It has no offensive capability, does not scan other systems, and communicates outbound over HTTPS only.
- Your responsibility. Configuring protection policies is your decision. A firewall rule that blocks an address blocks it for everyone behind that address, including you. On installation the agent whitelists the IP you are connecting from, and the whitelist always takes priority over a block, but you remain responsible for maintaining a second route of administrative access to your servers.
- Availability of protection. Ban decisions are made locally on the agent, so protection continues if connectivity to the panel is lost. Features that depend on the panel — shared reputation, alerts, remote policy changes, history — do not.
- Updates. The agent may update itself to keep protection and security fixes current. You can control update behaviour from the panel where the plan provides it.
8. Shared threat intelligence
A core feature of paid plans is a cross-tenant reputation database: network addresses that have attacked one customer's servers can be blocked pre-emptively for others. By using the service you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the attack metadata your agents report — source address or subnet, autonomous system, country, targeted service, timestamps and counts — for the purpose of operating and improving that database and the service generally.
This licence covers attack metadata only. It does not extend to the contents of your servers, your files, your users' data, or anything the agent does not collect. Section 9 of the Privacy Policy describes exactly what is collected.
9. Availability and support
We aim to keep the panel available continuously, but we do not commit to a specific uptime percentage on Free, Solo or Pro plans and provide no service credits on those plans. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical.
Support is provided by email and through the in-panel support channel, in English and Russian, on business days. Enterprise customers may agree separate response commitments in writing; where such an agreement exists, it prevails over this clause.
10. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the service, the agent, the panel, and all associated documentation, trademarks and branding. Subject to these Terms and to payment of applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and run the agent on servers you control and to access the panel, for the duration of your subscription.
You retain all rights in your own data. Feedback you send us may be used without restriction or obligation to you.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Security software reduces risk; it does not eliminate it. RDP Protector blocks password-guessing traffic that matches your policy. It cannot protect against weak or leaked credentials, unpatched software, insider action, supply-chain compromise, or attacks that do not present as failed authentication. It is one control among several, not a guarantee that your servers will not be compromised.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect or block any particular attack.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including statutory rights of consumers.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or data, however caused.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you actually paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Where you use the service on a Free plan and have paid nothing, that limit is EUR 100.
These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or to any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
13. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from the panel. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach clause 6, if your use presents a security or legal risk to us or to other customers, or if required by law. Where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- We may terminate a Free plan account that has shown no activity for 12 months, after email notice.
- On termination, your licence to use the agent ends and you should uninstall it. Uninstalling the agent does not automatically remove the firewall rules it created; the uninstaller offers to remove them.
- Clauses 8, 10, 11, 12 and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email to the address on your account and update the version and effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the new version. If you do not, cancel before that date.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Varna, Bulgaria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of that country. EU consumers may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
